About
Bornova Anatolian High School (BAL) is one of the oldest and the most prestigious schools of the area with its long established tradition since 1952. The school staff consists of the school principle and 5 assistant headmasters as the directors, 101 teachers. There are nearly 1500 students aged between 14 to 18. BAL facilities include 56 classrooms with interactive boards, art class, computer and science laboratory, a well resourced library, 1 indoor 2 outdoor gymnasium, robotic coding workshop and fiber internet connection. Our school aims to be an esteemed place of education respecting universal values and has a vision of continuous development. In order to achieve this goal we are aiming to educate individuals productive in both science and technology and creative in fine arts and thus creating a modern culture in education and cultivating self confident and respectful individuals. We try to increase students’ potential for academic learning with our teachers experienced in their fields. In addition we are aiming to increase the level of our students’ foreign language skills. Our students show great interest in international projects which help them to acquire experiences with their peers from European countries. The main objectives of our students are to improve their interests both in science and arts and graduate with a knowledge of multiple foreign languages like English, German and French. Because we are a big school, we will be able to apply the outcomes of the project in practice directly at our school. Moreover, it is the institution that has a chance to disseminate the outcomes. Seda ADAY is both Turkish language-Literature and English teacher. She will help implement the activities of the project and work with the students for preparing e-books and project corners. She takes part in project writing studies and is looking forward to involving more students in projects in order to broaden their horizons and improve themselves and consciousness about language learning and different cultures. Sabriye DEMİRTAÅž is an English teacher who ran two different Erasmus+ projects before. She will take part in implementing, monitoring and evaluating the project activities. She is the responsible person for arranging the meetings, social activities of the project. Moreover, she will take a role when hosting the participants in the country. Fidan ÖZDEMİR, received her master degree in the field of environmental pollution. She will provide the connection with the staff at university about the seminars that will be given at our school. There are 3 main teachers for the project. However, all the staff at school will take an active role when they are needed. Water shortage due to the climate change is not far.Therefore via education the awareness should be risen. Young people are our future. If they search and learn, new solutions could be found due to the water sources.
